Terms of service

settlme is made and run by one person, D. Antonelli, based in the Netherlands, rather than by a company. "We" below means that person. These terms are between you and them.

1. Acceptable use

Use settlme for its intended purpose: tracking your own immigration paperwork and, if you choose, participating respectfully in the community. Don't misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, or post content that is abusive, illegal, or misleading.

2. Not immigration advice

settlme is a helping tool. It organises deadlines and documents from publicly available rules, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified immigration lawyer or from the relevant authority. We make no guarantee that any checklist, deadline, estimate or summary is complete or correct for your situation.

Meeting a deadline stays your responsibility. Published rules change, processing times slip, and a rule that applies to most people may not apply to you. Check the authority's own website before you act on anything here, and treat every figure in the app as an estimate rather than a commitment. We are not liable for a deadline you miss, an application that is refused, or a cost you incur, however it came about.

3. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including missed deadlines or immigration consequences. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness, and nothing here limits your rights as a consumer under Book 7 of the Burgerlijk Wetboek.

5. Changes to the service

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We'll try to give notice for material changes that affect your data.

6. Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms and to any dispute arising from them. If you use settlme as a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you keep the right to bring a case before the courts there. Otherwise, disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
